Here’s a beautiful tip from Legacy Doula Nancy Rose:
For my current client, I just completed a Legacy Tribute for her 90th birthday celebration. What a milestone! I have been working with her for the last several months organizing her photo mess. Her family came to me and told me about her 90th birthday and asked what I could do. I spent three weeks sorting through photos and curated about 250 photos. I scanned and edited each one. Then I made a PowerPoint presentation that I converted to MP3 video format. The day of the event was held at a local clubhouse with 100 family members present. I tried my best to include a photo with each of the attendees.
I set up the presentation in the corner of the room on a floor screen that could be seen throughout the room. The video looped so it continued throughout the four hours. There were about 15 tables throughout the room. I framed 20 of the photos and placed them on the tables, including the buffet table. I had one large photo board with a birthday greeting and the best photo of my client. I created a table runner for each table with the photos I had scanned. Two hundred and fifty photos go a long way. The photos were the highlight of the party. Everyone had a story to share, and it kept the conversation going at the tables. Framed photos were gifted to family members who asked. My client’s son had died recently and this was a way for many to celebrate mother and son at the same time.
