Here’s another tip from Legacy Doula Nancy Rose:
The memorial service for my brother Gary was held at a large church in our area. Gary was an endurance athlete, an Ironman, and cyclist. We placed his bike at the church entrance. I created a Legacy Table at the entrance of the sanctuary that included framed photos of his life events, a photo book of the last trip to France he took with his 20 year old children, and his medallions from his events including the Chicago Marathon. We scattered snapshots along the table amongst the framed photos. His memorial program included a photo of him riding in the Ironman in France. It was a beautiful photo that had the French Alps around him and included Psalm 121: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” I had a large photo board made of the photo and verse that was placed on an easel as backdrop to the Legacy Table.
