Butterflies are extremely fragile and are covered with dust-like scales that come off when they are handled. If a butterfly lands on you, you should hold still and not touch. Old printed photos are especially fragile and should be handled with care. Your body’s natural oils and moisture, as well as hand lotions, can damage your photos. You should have your old photos scanned and print inexpensive copies to touch and hold. When you do handle the old photos, make sure your hands are clean and dry. Better yet, wear powder free exam or cloth gloves.
