A flower garden can quickly be strangled by weeds if you don’t keep the weeds pulled. The same is true for our photo collections. We often take dozens of shots of the same thing in order to capture a really good shot, but we neglect deleting all except the one or two keepers. Fellow photo organizer Holly Corbid of Capture Your Photos offers this tool to help us decide which photos are keepers. Ask yourself: 1. Does the photo add to your story? 2. Is it actually a good photo? 3. Does the photo spark joy (make you happy)? 4. Do you have others like it? Pick ONE (the one that meets 1-3 best). Good tip Holly! I’ve always said, don’t organize what you can discard. Keep the best of the best and do not be afraid to use the delete function. Remember, you are not deleting your memories by editing your story. Rather, you are creating a functional collection that tells your story in an enjoyable manner (without all the photo weeds).
