These days most of us are overwhelmed with boxes of printed photos and thousands of digital photos. I take the approach of “right-sizing” a client’s photo collection. We edit it to ensure that it is the right size for them to manage, share, love and appreciate. One sure fire way to make your photo collection more manageable is to get comfortable with the DELETE function for your digital photos and the B and C pile (see ABCs above) for your printed photos. Focus on a few quality images of each life event. Throwing out photos isn’t throwing out your memories. Rather, editing your story makes it easier to treasure, share and allow the top-quality photos to really shine. Here are three types of photos you can easily delete or toss from your printed or digital collection. 1. Photos with bad lighting, 2. Multiple shots of the same subject, 3. Photos of people with their eyes closed.
