Photos are fragile. They can be damaged by conditions that are too hot, cold, humid or dry. If the environment is too humid, your photos will mold, curl, and stick together. On the other hand, if it’s too dry, they will become brittle and cracked. The storage area’s temperature can also be a destructive element. Heat will cause discoloration and damage to the photo chemicals. What is even worse, is that the heat can cause photos to stick together. Cold can also cause discoloration, making photos brittle. Sunlight will fade the colors. Make space inside your home to keep your photos in an environmentally appropriate place. Perhaps under a bed or in a closet. Remember, if you wouldn’t be comfortable living in the environment, neither will your photos.
