Discard anything that can be remembered just as easily through a quality photo. This includes cards, invitations, announcements, programs, ticket stubs, letters, and report cards. Another trick to save space, is to photograph bulky, or oversized items.
Items you kept for your adult kids, or other family members, can be given to the person who loves them best. Inherited items, kept out of guilt, can be given to others. What about those items that are neutral or invoke negative memories? Unless you believe these items help tell your story, they should not rate space in your box. They can be photographed, documented and released.
