I loved this image from fellow photo organizer Paul Einarsen of Bluewater Imaging. He spilled this tidbit in his newsletter: “It’s the little secret of most professional photographers that for every awesome shot of theirs you see, there are huge (digital) trash bins of photos that never made the cut.” Start the new year with a new taking-out-the-trash habit. Take 5 minutes a day to go through your photos and delete the junk photos, the screenshots, and the accidental ones. Once you have the easy ones culled, start getting choosy about the photos you took on purpose. Only keep the photos that are actually GOOD. It’s hard to hit “delete” at first, but once you get comfortable with it, your photo collection will be more manageable and start to really shine. You’ll be like the pros!
